Keeping Children Safe in Education 2019 requires schools to keep DSLs and all staff up to date with key aspects of safeguarding. The termly Safeguarding briefing and workshop is a 2 hour meeting for practitioners with invited local and regional speakers. Attendance is encouraged by DSLs from education settings
These practice focussed meetings will give you the chance to meet with your DSL peers, discuss local issues and come away with resources for implementation back in your setting. Included will be a practical workshop e.g using Right Help Right Time, working with Birmingham Children’s Trust, using the new Early Help Assessment, after which toolkits will be produced to enable DSLs to disseminate good practice across their settings.
