Education Safeguarding

Welcome to the training support offered to schools & education settings across Birmingham. Using a training needs analysis drawn from the recently completed section 175 safeguarding self-assessment and based on the key topics that will affect schools we are pleased to offer a comprehensive package of support. This is open to any education setting in the city regardless of designation

Events will be facilitated by a range of speakers from within the City or at a National level who will brief you on the key issues for your setting and how it should be best addressed. Attendance is encouraged from the DSL and also members of the senior leadership team who have strategic oversight of safeguarding within the organisation. Learning from these events can then be cascaded to staff as appropriate

It is our intention to foster a supportive atmosphere between staff and examine the broad range of safeguarding issues you face. The aim is to discuss safeguarding topics within the context of each District and see how specific concerns can be addressed. This will occur through the 'operational' District Safeguarding Network meetings, and the more 'strategic' Area Safeguarding Conferences. We will also offer bespoke topic based sessions relevant to schools on such things as Early Help Practice training, DSL Supervision Course or WRAP3 train the trainer sessions, plus many more
